Well we are still waiting on the windows but from what we hear of the weather at home, this is not a big problem. I feel so bad for all of those left at home. But this is why we bought the motorhome - to leave winter behind. I am greatful that we are able to do it. The weather here isn't super warm. It's been nice, foggy at times and it stormed a little last night. That was cool! Little bit of rain this morning but the sun came out this afternoon.
Several of our windows have been installed. They are working overtime tomorrow to finish. The ones installed look wonderful. What a differance.
With our time sitting here, I've gotten things put away inside and Herb has gotten the rig washed. At our next stop we will probably get some wax on the outside and get the wheels polished up. It's all starting to come together. With this stop the cats are getting more relaxed too. I feel sorry for them when we move again tomorrow. But we won't be going very far. We need to get settled in and find some place to watch the game on Sunday. I've got a place picked out and it's just over the Sunshine Skyway bridge. About a 2 hour drive.
Here is a link to the site. http://www.frogcreek.us.com/about.html . It looks kinda rustic. We'll check it out. Not sure how long we will stay.
We have a reservation for the month of March. We will be staying at Ft Meyers Beach. I found them surfing the web. They have a special for those who have not stayed there before. $850 for the month including taxes but not electricity. Here is the link for this one.

This link is for some photos. The beach is 2 miles away.
My links didn't work. You'll have to cut and paste them. Sorry.
Now we will just have to fill in the middle.
Thats it for tonight. Hopefully on the road tomorrow. Have a good night and stay warm.
Congrats on the window install! Will be happy to see the pics when it's done---
ReplyDeleteAs for the rig washing/waxing and the wheels.... can I offer some advice?
(as much as men wanna get out the wax and polish and bond with their vehicles)
The finish on our rigs is a clearcoat paint the same that is used on Mercedes and is recommended to have NO wax on it. Only mild soap and water. We wash and rinse with a rinse aid (Mr. Clean car wash unit that goes on the hose and has rinse cartrides in it) We have never waxed our rig in the 4 years we have owned it. And it's very shiny and pretty.
The rims are coated with a special coating, and if you use some of the harsh chrome cleaners, it strips the coating and then you always have to clean them that way once you take that finish off. There are some guys on the Safari list that forever regret using a cleaner on them.
Does your rig have the lower compartment doors in the brushed stainless steel or are your painted? Same with those if they are the stainless.. do not scrub them or you will remove the coating.
My step dad one day was all gung ho on hauling out the stainless steel and chrome cleaner and trying to get Steve to use it... and I had to almost barricade the door to keep them from going out and doing it.
"oh just one door to see... oh just one tire... it will look so nice.. let me polish it for you"
I had to haul out the owners books and show Steve and warn him how he will regret it. So he ceased and desisted.
Just sayin....

Thanks Karen. I kinda remember u saying something like that before.
ReplyDeleteHerb doesn't think there is a coating on the wheels he said that he knows what it looks like and our wheels are tarnished. So maybe someone already polished the finish off??
We bought a product called Ice for the rig. Its a liquid wax that u put it on and wipe till dry. No buffing. The front of the rig has no shine anymore so we will put it on there.
I'll have Herb look thru the book for that information.
Thanks again,
Karen
Hey you guys.. read Herbs report on the window place on the Safari list. What a great review and so glad they did you good!
ReplyDeleteOnce he gets that rig all spiffy-ed up and has bonded with it, you won't be able to get him to ever come back in the house next summer. Steve is the same way!
